Hire a Scottish ceilidh band in Brussels and across Europe
Looking for a ceilidh band for your wedding, Burns Night or party? The Hoggies have been getting Brussels dancing since 2011. We are a Scottish ceilidh band of Scottish, Irish, English and Belgian musicians, with live fiddles, accordion, bodhrán and guitars, and a caller who teaches every dance.
Occasions we play
- Weddings, including mixed Belgian–British weddings
- Burns Nights and Burns Suppers
- St Andrew's Night dinners and balls
- Hogmanay and New Year parties
- Birthdays and private parties
- Corporate and team events
- Festivals, clan gatherings and charity events
No experience needed
Every dance is taught step by step before the music starts, and our caller guides the dancers all the way through. We call in English, and in French when needed, so mixed crowds dance together from the first set. Guests of every age join in, from young children to grandparents.
How the evening works
We usually play a couple of hours of dancing, and we plan the timing with you around dinner, speeches and the rest of your evening. We bring our own PA and sound gear, and we are happy to use the venue's system when it suits.
Where we play
We are based in Brussels and play all over Belgium. We have also played in the Netherlands, Luxembourg, France, Germany, Italy and Scotland.
What couples say
"The band were fantastic, and genuinely the best wedding related thing we decided on. I'd say over two thirds of our guests were on the dance floor at all times, and despite a language barrier, everyone danced together because of the fantastic instructions."
— Hanne, Belgian–British wedding
